Edinburgh Oktoberfest 2026
A slice of Munich’s Theresienwiese lands in Tollcross for three nights of Bavarian beer, brass bands and long communal tables — Edinburgh’s own Wiesn, now in its twelfth year.
Dates: 8–10 October 2026
Venue: Central Hall, Tollcross
Since: 2014
What to expect
Munich’s biggest festival, brought home to Edinburgh
Long benches, oompah brass, and steins of German beer under one roof at Tollcross’s Central Hall — a warm-up act for anyone who can’t make it to Bavaria this autumn, and a proper night out for anyone who can.
Running since 2014
Nights: Thu–Sat, 3 nights
Location: Tollcross, EH3
Dress code: Lederhosen & dirndls welcome
On the night: Beer, brass and long tables
Authentic German brews
Bavarian beer served the traditional way, alongside a full bar for anyone who’d rather stick to something local.
Bratwurst & schnitzel
Hearty Bavarian plates built for sharing across the long communal tables, the way a Wiesn table should be.
Brass bands & Schlager
Live oompah and Schlager acts keep the hall singing along, with plenty of room set aside for dancing on the benches.

Getting there Finding Central Hall
On foot or by bus
Tollcross sits a short walk from the West End and the Old Town, so most visitors staying centrally can walk in under 20 minutes. Regular Lothian Buses routes stop nearby on Home Street and Lauriston Place.
Parking
Street parking around Tollcross is limited on festival nights — book ahead through a service like JustPark, or leave the car and walk in from the centre.
Where to stay
Tollcross and the West End have plenty of options within walking distance, from budget hostels to boutique townhouses, so you can roll straight into bed once the band packs up.
Central Hall, Tollcross
West Tollcross, Edinburgh EH3 9QJ
A category B-listed former church hall, now one of Edinburgh’s best-loved live event venues — high ceilings, a wraparound gallery, and plenty of room for long beer-hall tables.
Lederhosen and dirndls encouraged, not required
Half the fun is dressing the part — but jeans and a good pair of dancing shoes will get you through the night just fine.
